FI Branch in Vattavada

Dedicated our 601st branch to Vattavada for Financial Inclusion through technology.

Overview

KGB has opened its 601st Branch in Vattavada Panchayat of Idukki District.
Vattavada is largely an agrarian village which is situated at a distance of 42 km from Munnar town, surrounded by forests.
Opening a branch in Vattavada was a challenge considering the topography and the distance from nearest town, i.e.; Munnar.
Against the odds, we opened a branch along with an ATM in Vattavada to provide banking services to the villagers.
Within three months of opening, the branch has opened around 3600 SB accounts through eKYC which is a record.
We are associating with Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare in their Special Agriculture Zone Project.
We also have plans to transform the village into a cash-lite economy.
KGB is undertaking a pilot project of Cash-lite economy in Vattavada in collaboration with NPCI and MicroSave.
